Rescue Squad and Shore Drive News

Welcome Ambulance 122!

7/11/2022

First of three new trucks pushed into the garage!

As previously teased on social media, the first of three brand new ambulances has arrived at Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad. The first ambulance was welcomed on Saturday July 2nd at a small cookout and dedication ceremony. In order to fulfill our life-saving mission, the squad wasted little time putting the truck in service upon delivery. Hence the impromptu dedication ceremony. Thanks to supporters, like you, we purchased all the medical supplies and equipment in advance. It was staged and ready to be loaded as soon as the ambulance rolled up to the station. Thanks to our amazing all-volunteer team, the truck was loaded and ready to respond to calls in single day.

The orange and blue livery features the two Cape Henry lighthouses. We are more than just Ocean Park. We serve the entire Shore Drive community, included Cape Story, Lynnhaven Shores, Westminster-Canterbury On The Bay, First Landing State Park, The North End, Great Neck Road, Cox Highschool, and the entire City Of Virginia Beach when called upon. Thanks to you, we have life saving equipment needed to provide the highest level of care. Your continued support will keep this new ambulance stocked for many years.
